Donors being sought for local blood drives

Several blood drives are being held this week, and the Central California Blood Center is encouraging donors to give the gift of life. “At this time of year, blood usage is high, due to weather related accidents, and donations are often lower due to the flu season, “ said Chris Sorensen, Director of Community Relations and Development for Central California Blood Center. “We rely heavily on our loyal donor base, but must attract new donors to meet the ever-growing need for blood. Anyone who is healthy and meets the eligibility requirements is needed to please give blood.”
