Workshops in Clovis, Lynwood Examine Future R&D Funding for Disadvantaged Communities
WHAT: The California Energy Commission will hold public workshops March 20 in Clovis and March 27 in Lynwood to discuss future clean energy research and development funding opportunities for disadvantaged and low-income communities.
The Energy Commission wants to increase the diversity of those receiving research dollars. Feedback from the workshops will be incorporated into the Energy Commissions Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) 2018 2020 Triennial Investment Plan. The plan lays out the strategy for administering funds.
During the workshops, attendees will be given an overview of the program and details on the Energy Commissions diversity outreach efforts. They will discuss community-driven energy research needs and be provided information about how to apply for funding opportunities.
The Energy Commission invests about $120 million a year for clean energy innovations.
